Versus Returns

ROCKY BALBOA VS. JOHN RAMBO

Rocky Balboa was first introduced to us in the 1976 Academy Award Winning film Rocky, starring Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. John Rambo was first introduced to us in the 1972 David Morrell novel First Blood, but is probably better known for the 1982 film adaptation also starring Stallone as Rambo.

Rocky Balboa (Rocky III)
Rocky Balboa is a down on his luck boxer who lives in the poorer section of Philedelphia. He isn't the brightest guy, but has a heart of gold, and would do anything to win over the girl of his dreams, Adrian. When he is given a chance at the World Champion title in a match against Apollo Creed, he takes it. He loses the match, but wins the heart of Adrian a long the way. But after Creed challenges Rocky to a rematch, Rocky clinches the title, and continues struggles with who he is, his love for boxing, and his love for Adrian. Rocky has been seen in six movies, winning and losing, and sometimes training.

John Rambo (Rambo: First Blood
Part II)
John Rambo was a soldier in the Vietnam War. But when he comes back to visit an old war buddy, he learns he's passed away, and the locals look down upon vagrants. When the police charge him and rough him up, Rambo flashes back to his use of survival techniques in the jungles of 'Nam, and breaks out of the police department. Rambo makes his way to the mountains where he wages war against the police forces coming to capture him. Rambo has been seen in four movies, in which he is given other chances by the government to aid them in personal missions, help a small Afghan village, and rescue missionaries from war torn Burma.

But the question you've all been waiting for. Who would win? Well, I'm going to assume the use of guns aren't allowed. It's kind of hard to judge on strength, considering how Stallone played both roles and he was in peak physical shape for both of them. Rocky is quick enough and hits hard enough in the ring, but as I mentioned, he isn't very bright. Rambo has learned guerrilla style tactics for taking down enemies and fights hard. It would be an intense and brutal fight, but I think Rambo has the upper hand. After being held hostage and having to battle enemy soldiers in life or death situations, I don't think he would hesitate to put Rocky down.

WINNER: JOHN RAMBO
